Episode 20: Welcome to Heal Into Happy, I’m your host Lark Allen. I am so happy that we have met here once again, we’re creating sacred space where two or more gather and sentinels miracles around beautiful healing as possible. Today, we are going to create space for the most artistic and creative parts of us to be birthed through the healing modality of art therapy. When I was a little girl, I was enrolled in an art therapy program by my mother, and it was because of the trauma that I had experienced when I was young, and it was a really healing part of my childhood. I was really able to process the trauma that I had experienced through art therapy, we can do art therapy in many forms, from painting, drawing, dancing or poetry.

IN THIS EPISODE:
• How would you like to express yourself today? As we start coloring together, painting together, maybe poetry will be the form of the expression that your inner child is wanting to do. Journal about it, feel into how you would like to begin. This can be something that’s totally playful and it can be done as often as you would like. (9:46)
• We’ve all been through such a roller coaster over this last year and a half, and so this is a great thing to bring and you as a family activity about how everybody is feeling over this last year, it’s really important for us to process all of the things, if there’s been isolation because you haven’t gotten out as much, if there’s been illness, if there’s been a loss of a job, so many things have happened to all of us in different ways. (10:58)
• And then as you’re doing this and you’re finding it to be healing and fun, and you’re really tuning into different parts of yourself that you didn’t even know existed, celebrate that. And then pay this forward where you’re sharing how powerful your experience has been, and then you are helping other people join in on this too. The way, I see us going into unity consciousness. (14:15)
• Just like the phoenix that rises from the ashes, we are healing one beautiful step at a time, and art therapy is definitely a beautiful way to open ourselves up and really set a lot of emotions free, and then we can let all of that be integrated into us. We can then celebrate how far we’ve truly come. (18:02)
